Emma Vaughn, little daughter of Dr. and Mrs. G. A. Vaughn, died of scarlet fever last Sunday night, six years of age. About three weeks ago she was taken with a light form of scarlet fever, called scarletina, and was supposed to be well recovered. She was out one bright day and took cold, and death resulted within a week. Emma was a bright little girl who always gladdened the hearts of those about her. On account of the nature of the disease, the parents were denied the many little acts of kindness neighbors would otherwise bestow, and the funeral was privately conducted Monday afternoon. The heartfelt sympathy of the community is extended Dr. and Mrs. Vaughn in their bereavement.
