Myrtle Mae Smith was born October 8, 1891, the daughter of Fredrick and Anna Winkle Smith, at Mclntire. Myrtle attended Mclntire schools and graduated from Mclntire High School.
She was united in marriage to Albert Seaquist of Spencer on December 12, 1911, at Mclntire. The couple has lived in Bradgate, Clarion, and Eagle Grove, where Mr. Seaquist was employed as a brick mason. He died in 1981.
Myrtle was an 80-year member of the Rebekah Lodge, and a Gold Star Mother.
Myrtle Seaquist entered the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in 1981. She died there Tuesday evening, March 27, 1990, at the age of 98 years, five months, and 19 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Albert, in World War II, and two sisters, Ivy Vaughn and Violet Locke.
She is survived by four daughters, Margaret McVicker, Eagle Grove; Phyllis Fern Smith, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Mrs. William (Wanda Anna) Watkins, Algona; and Patricia Myers, San Antonio, Texas; and one brother, Walker F. Smith of Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on March 30 at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ken Peterson officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
