Andrew Urban Shoots Self
Andrew Urban who lives on the Moats farm in southwest Troy township shot himself Monday evening 6:30 o'clock. Neighbors sent for the sheriff to look after Urban, who had been drinking and behaving rather queerly. When Sheriff Lang arrived and was about to enter the house he heard the report of a gun after a brief search located the body of Urban In the attic of his, home. He had placed the muzzle of a shotgun at the pit of his stomach and evidently pulled the trigger with his toe. The entire charge entered his body, killing him practically instantly. The deceased was a bachelor about 52 years of age, a native of Germany. He leaves a sister, Miss Anna Urban, who lives at Duncombe and a niece in this country. The sister fell off the roof of her home at Duncombe Monday and was seriously injured. Urban and his sister had but recently sent transportation and money to Germany to other relatives who are expected to arrive any day.
Party Sunday Night
There seems to have been a party at the Urban home Sunday night. After the guests had departed Urban and his housekeeper quarreled. She attempted to leave but he threatened her life with a shotgun. She returned to the house and persuaded Urban to take a ride in her car. They both got in and she drove to a neighbor's home where she got out of the car and ran into the house. Urban left immediately and apparently in a jealous rage at his housekeeper went back to his home and smashed up everything in her room, including a Victor talking machine and a number of records.
Funeral Thursday
The remains were ordered taken to the Foll and Wilson undertaking parlors in Eagle Grove, where arrangements were made to hold the funeral Thursday.
