August 11, 1932 ---- March 26, 2019

Marjorie Ann Kilber, age 86, passed away Tuesday evening, March 26, 2019, at SummerWood Long Term Care of Chanhassen, Minnesota. Marjorie was born August 11, 1932, on the family's farm in Corwith, IA, to John J. and Anna (Jordanger) Nelson. In 1938, at the age of 6 her family moved to a farm near Kanawha, Iowa, where she lived until 1954. She attended country school, graduated from Kanawha High School in 1949, and worked on the Kanawha family farm. While on a trip to San Diego, CA, with her family, Marjorie met a young sailor from South Dakota named Earl Kilber. They were married on September 12, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Corwith. After her marriage to Earl, they farmed in Belmond, IA, and South Shore, SD. They lived in Watertown, SD, Detroit Lakes, MN, and Minot, ND, before moving to Farmington, in 1968. Earl passed away on January 9, 1988, and Marjorie moved to Northfield in 2003. Marge and her "Famous Fish Fry" were fixtures for many years at the Northfield Ballroom. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a former active & founding member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakeville.

Marjorie will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Marjorie is survived by her five children: David (Monica) of Chanhassen, Stephen (Carla) of Oshkosh, WI, Pam (Dan) Blake of Eden Prairie, Julie Kilber (Keith Johnson) of St. Anthony, Susan (Eric) Kalenze of New Brighton; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents John & Anna Nelson, her husband Earl Kilber, her grandson Sam Blake, her sister Deloris Severson, and her brother Arthur Nelson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Friday, April 5, 2019, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 500 3rd St W, Northfield, with visitation beginning at 9:30am. A luncheon will follow the service and a private interment at 1:15pm will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are with the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home.
