Clara Selmina Roseland was born July 1, 1893 at Eagle Grove, the daughter of John J. and Gertrude Christofferson Roseland. She was baptized July 23, 1893 and confirmed October 25, 1906. She received her education in a rural Holmes School. She was united in marriage to Eugene McCormick of Eagle Grove on March 8,1919 at Fort Dodge. The couple farmed in the Head Grove area of Wright County until 1943 when they moved to Eagle Grove.

Mrs. McCormick passed away at the Rotary Ann Retirement Home on Friday morning, April 23, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 23 days.

She is survived by one son, Roger McCormick, Renwick; two daughters, Phyllis, Mrs. A. J. Strain, Eagle Grove, and Lois, Mrs. Merle Gearhart, Eagle Grove, three sisters: Mrs. Jennie Willard and Mrs. Agnes Hoffbuhr, of So. Pekin, Ill.; Gladys, Mrs. H. A. Summers, Belmond; and one brother, Arthur Roseland of Eagle Grove; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Arnold G. McCormick.

Mrs. McCormick was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove, the Senior Citizens Club and the Chicago Northwestern Club.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 26, in the United Methodist Church. Rev. Donald Glazier officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
