Mrs. Edith Boring Goodrich, 72, of Fontana, Calif., a former area resident, died April 3 at Ontario, Calif. She had been in ill health for six months. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church in Webster City with the Rev. Michael E. Kelley officiating and burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove.
Edith Austin, daughter of James Henry and Hannah Griffith Austin, was born Jan. 19, 1901 at Eagle Grove. She attended schools at Arispe. She was united in marriage to Samuel Boring, who preceded her in death in 1928. She was married to Walter M. Goodrich in 1954, and the family has been residing in California.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Howard Boring of Fontana, Calif., Franklin Boring of Fort Dodge, and Sam Boring of Webster City; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one brother, Ralph Austin of Shelbina, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
