Page 1, Column 1DEATH OF MRS. SARAH IRISH
Sarah Ann Keeler was born at Norwalk, Huron county, Ohio, May 21, 1831, and passed away to her eternal rest, April 30th, 1916. If she had lived 21 days more she would have been 85 years of age.
She was married to Israel Allen Irish, at Mount Gillead, Morrow county, Ohio, at the age of 21 years. To this union were born twelve children five of whom with the husband have passed on before. She was always active in doing good for others with no thought of reward for self. She has left to mourn her passing, three sisters that live in Michigan, and who were unable to be here. Seven children, John of Toledo; Elisha of Lehigh; Addie Sorrell and Mable Williams of this city; Ida Baldridge of Lehigh who were present at the funeral; Samuel of Portland Oregon; and Charles of Red Wing, could not come also 15 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Irish was greatly beloved not only by her immediate family, but by an ever-widening circle of friends. Age brought barriers or limitations but broadened sympathies and quickened interest in all who were about her Little children, the young, and people of all ages were drawn to her and held by the perennial love of the heart that never grew old. She lived, long among us and few will be remembered in as many homes as she. She was a faithful, devoted member of the Baptist church and took a deep interest in all of its work and welfare. She was a member of the Home Department of the Sunday school and found peculiar profit and delight In the study of the Bible.
While Mrs. Irish had not been feeling well for a few months there was no thought of any serious sickness. Pneumonia suddenly developed last Friday and all that medical skill and faithful nursing could do was lovingly given and on Sunday evening she quietly fell asleep in Jesus.
