Dora May Asche, daughter of Earl W. and Dorothy M. (Tate) Orr, was born on June 28, 1936 in Troy Township, Wright County, Iowa.

She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Woolstock High School in 1953.

Dora was united in marriage with Donald E. Asche on February 13, 1954 in Eagle Grove.

Dora lived her entire life in Eagle Grove area, mostly on Troy Township. She worked as a Certified Dietary Manager at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove for 25 years, retiring in 1998. They operated a licensed kennel for several years, specializing in Shetland Sheepdogs. Dora liked to spend time gardening, canning, preserving and also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.

Dora was baptized in the Goldfield Park Church of Christ and was originally a member of the Woolstock United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Asche passed away on December 28, 2001, at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge at the age of 65 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ruth Green.

Survivors include her husband, Donald E. Asche of Eagle Grove; children: Michael E. Asche of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Barbara M. Greenwood of Eagle Grove, Cindy L. Campbell of Eagle Grove and Don E. Asche of Eagle Grove; grandchildren: Michael Greenwood of Ames, Matthew Asche, Eric Asche, Kristin Asche all of Cedar Falls, Jacob Asche of Eagle Grove and Adam Asche of Eagle Grove; great granddaughter, Lily Greenwood of Ottumwa; and a step-sister, Ione Caquelin and husband Glenn of Fort Dodge.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2001 at the Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, Iowa with Rev. William e. Ballard, officiating. Music: Gwen Sandven, Organist, Erin Halverson, Vocalist. Casket Bearers: Adam Asche, Jacob Asche, Matt Asche, Eric Asche, John Asche, and Mike Greenwood. Burial will be in Troy Township Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa.
