Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 25, at Immanuel Reformed church for Fred Asche, 81, who died November 22, 1985, at the Belmond Care Center. Rev. William Kroon officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Fulton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Fred, the son of Weert and Marie Heyerhorst Asche, was born August 26, 1904 at Forreston, IL., and moved to Kanawha at the age of eight. He received his education in rural schools in the Kanawha area. He became a member of the Reformed Church.

On March 8, 1937 he was married to Ida Pals at Belmond. They farmed northeast of Belmond and moved into town in 1964. He also worked many years for the M & St. L. Railroad and retired in 1966.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters and seven brothers. Surviving are his wife, Ida of Belmond: one son, Dwaine Asche of Clear Lake; one daughter, Diane (Mrs. Larry) Beyer, Fort Dodge; five grandchildren and one brother, Angle Asche of Fort Dodge.

Casket Bearers: Gerald Asche, Walter Asche, John Asche, Dennis Boelman, Alvin Boelman and Wayne Pals.
