LYLE L. GROSS

Lyle Larrick Gross was born on February 1, 1915, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to George Henry and Callie Fem Gross. He attended school in Troy Township and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1932. On June 1, 1938, he married Helen Marian McNeal of Clarion, Iowa. They farmed south of Eagle Grove for 60 years. Following retirement from farming, be was employed by Younglove Construction for five years. After his wife's death in May of 1992, he moved to the Rotary Ann Home in 1993 and then to Friendship Haven in February 1999. He was active in the Eagle Grove United Methodist Church.

Lyle L. Gross died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge, Iowa, at the age of 85.

Survivors include two sons, Doug and George Gross, Fort Dodge; one daughter, Cindy Gross-Sockler, Fort Collins, Colo.; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. at the Eagle Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will be held in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening (tonight) at the Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Fort Dodge or the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove.
