Former Salem resident, George Milton Boyington, 76, of Ilwaco, Wash., died Jan. 23 in an Ilwaco hospital. After getting the idea, he had a flour company develop the proper type of batter, obtained financial backing and sold franchises all over the U.S., according to his son, Jack, of Salem. He was a member of Grace Church, San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Gideon International. Survivors include wife, Versa; sons, Jack. Salem, and Baxter, Santa Maria, Calif.; daughter, Jolene Northup, Glenwood, Ill.; brother, Floyed, Mehama; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held Jan. 27 in Penttila's mortuary, Long Beach, Wash. The family suggests contributions to the Gideon Bible Fund.
