October 2, 1903 --- October 25, 1992

Graveside services for retired Army Lt. Col. Philip B. Middleton, 89, of 19920 Upas Road, Culver, Indiana, who died at 6:27 p.m. Sunday in Holy Cross Parkview Hospital, Plymouth, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Zion Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Church of Christ. Bonine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Middleton was a retired engineer from Dodge Electric, Mishawaka, and had been an engineer at Studebaker Corp., South Bend.

He was born Oct. 2, 1903, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He had lived in Culver for 62 years. On Aug. 25, 1932, in Culver, he married Cleta B. Zechiel. She survives with two sons, Robert of Glen Ellyn, III., and John of Culver; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. Middleton was a member of the church, Plymouth Kilwinning Masonic Lodge 149 and Monterey American Legion, and was a life member of the Retired Military Officers Association and Disabled American Veterans. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
