Edna Cecelia Poole, 83, of the Brooks-Howell Home, died June 5. A native of Eagle Grove, Iowa, she studied at Iowa State Teacher's College, Denver University School of Social Work and Scarritt College. She, retired in 1971 after 41 years as a Methodist deaconess. She had worked at West Side Community Center, Cleveland, Ohio, and was program director and executive director of Wesley House, Memphis, Tenn. for 24 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Brooks-Howell Chapel. The Revs. Phillip B. Cole and Cecil K. Myrick will officiate. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Penland & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
