Arthur J. Smith, 86, of Mountain Home

Services for 86-year-old Arthur J. Smith of Mountain Home will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Willim Funeral Home Chapel in Eagle Grove, Iowa, with the Rev. William Ballard officiating. Mr. Smith died Sunday (Oct. 8, 2000) at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born June 4, 1914, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Arthur and Tillie Johnson Smith. He married Janet Keith Smith on Nov. 7, 1970, in Thor, Iowa. He lived in Mountain Home since 1978, moving from Eagle Grove. Mr. Smith was a member of the North Arkansas Woodcarvers Association. He was an avid Fisherman. He was a Methodist.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Smith; two sons, Michael Kunert and wife, Cindy, of Goldfield, Iowa, and Joel Kunert and wife, Melinda, of Fairfield Bay; two daughters, Marcia Poutre and husband, Jim, of Thor, and Janell Spratt and husband, Bill, of Sherwood; one sister, Klarize Morrison of Mountain Home; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Gayle; and one brother, Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove, Iowa.
