6 February 1844 ---- 24 March 1913

Peter Gaster who has made his home in the county for many years, passed away Monday afternoon at the home of P. N. Hubbell, three miles west of Clarion, death being due to paralysis Friday evening. Mr. Gaster was assisting in peeling some potatoes for supper, when he complained of a numbness in his hand and arm. Soon his leg was effected and then his head. He soon lapsed into unconsciousness and remained in that condition until the end.

Mr. Gaster was a native of Pennsylvania, the date of his birth being Feb. 6, 1844, he therefore being aged 69 years, 1 month and 18 days. He was an honorable and upright citizen, a kind father and husband. Deceased is survived by several children, the wife having preceded him to the better land some years ago. Funeral services will be held at Eagle Grove Thursday, with interment in the family lot.
