Veda Hartman, 69, a native of the Clarion and Woolstock areas, died Thursday, May 6, 1999.

She was born March 10, 1930, the daughter of Burdette and Clara Lois Reed Bell of Clarion. She married Carl Hartman on Sept. 11, 1949 at Woolstock. The couple moved to Thief River Falls in the early 1950s and then to the Iron Range.

Survivors are her husband Carl, four daughters, Anita Hartman, Teresa Lynn Layman, Connie Marie Tweten, Nancy Jeanne Garrison; two sons, William Steven Hartman and Chad LeRoy Hartman; 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Eleanor Gray of Stanhope, Iris Hightower, Arkansas, two brothers, Don Bell of Norwalk and Burdette Bell Jr of Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Leona Gaster.
