Marvin Julius Roseland, 74, Military Police, Truckmaster

Marvin Julius Roseland, the son of Julius and Esther (Anderson) Roseland, was born September 6, 1933 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating with the class of 1951 from Eagle Grove High School. He was united in marriage to Kay Arlee [Freeman] on April 6, 1953, in Omaha, Nebraska. On September 6, 1957, he joined the United States Army and served with the Military Police and as a Truckmaster. Marvin was honorably discharged on August 10, 1960. Marvin lived in Phoenix and Eagle Grove, and was a member of the Lutheran Church in Phoenix, and the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church. Marvin died June 5, 2008, at Wright Medical Center in Clarion at the age of 74 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Kay. Survivors include his children: Jerry, Teri, Vicki, Brion, Gary and Lori; two sisters, Ellen McCurry (Scott) and Shirley Spangler (Jerry); brother, Don Roseland, former wife, Marilyn Roseland and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Private family services were held, along with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.
