Annie Matilda Amerson, the daughter of John L. and Frederikke Frederikkeson Rasmussen, was born on September 8, 1884 in Lake Township, Humboldt County, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm and attended the area rural schools. On February 27, 1907, she was united in marriage with John Amerson in the Methodist parsonage in Hardy. To this union were born four children, Evelyn, Bernice, Raymond and Arnold. The family lived and farmed in Lake Township. Mr. Amerson died in 1939. Annie continued to live on the farm until 1952, when she moved to Hardy, where she lived until six weeks ago, when she was a patient in the hospital for a week and then became a resident of the Humboldt Care Center North. She was a long time member of the Lake Lutheran Church and in her younger years was active in the church activities and she also enjoyed her birthday club and her family and friends, until the time of her death on Monday afternoon, June 5, 1984 at the age of 99 years, eight months and 26 days at the Humboldt Care Center North.

She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Nervig of rural Thor, Mrs. Bernice Johnson of Elmore, Minn.; her sons: Raymond of Goldfield and Arnold of Goldfield; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Nels Rasmussen of West Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, four brothers and two son-in-laws, Thomas Nervig and John Johnson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Amerson, 99, of the Goldfield-Hardy area, were held on Thursday, June 7, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lake Lutheran Church west of Goldfield. Rev. Oliver Everson officiated and burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove on Wednesday.
