Nora Bertena Thompson, the daughter of Bernhard and Isabel Oleson Erickson, was born on November 11, 1894 in Wright County, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm and attended the rural schools. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On September 3, 1913, she was united in marriage with Eddie T. Thompson and the couple farmed until 1938, when they moved to Eagle Grove. Mr. Thompson preceded her in death. She had been a resident of the Clarion Care Center since 1979. She was a longtime member of the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. She died on Sunday morning, June 3, 1984, at the Clarion Care Center at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 22 days.

She is survived by a brother, Irvin Erickson of Clarion and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two infant sons and a son, Norris; a brother, Clarence and two sisters, Ellen and Elma.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nora B. Thompson, 89, of Eagle Grove, were , held on Wednesday, June 6, 1984, at 1:30 p.m. at the Samuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Carlton J. Shaw, church pastor, officiated and burial was in the Holmes Cemetery near Holmes. Visitation was held Tuesday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
