6 September 1891 ---- 29 July 1971

Carl Ernest Bruswitz was born September 6, 1891, at Stephens Point, Wisc., the son of Herman F. and Flora Teel Bruswitz. He was educated at Stephens Point, and grew to manhood there. On October 1, 1911, he was united in marriage to Elvira Elizabeth Morrill of Daney, Wisc., at Eagle Grove. The young couple then made their home in Eagle Grove, where Mr. Bruswitz was employed as a carpenter by the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. In later years, he was employed by the Boone Valley Coop Processing.

Mr. Bruswitz continued to live in the family home on South Commercial after the death of his wife in 1966. He died at Bethesda General Hospital, Fort Dodge, on Thursday, July 29, at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 23 days.

He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Irene Pixler, Eagle Grove; Miss Jessie Bruswitz, Des Moines; one son, James Bruswitz, Bloomington, Minn.; one brother, Herman Bruswitz, Pawling, N.Y.; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers. Mr. Bruswitz was a member of the United Methodist Church of Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 31 at 2 p.m. in the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. Rev. Donald L. Forbes of the United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
