Lowell Frederick Fevold, 97, long-time resident of the Humboldt area, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at home. Services are pending. Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements.

Lowell was born on January 7, 1921, to Bertin “BJ” and Florence (Saboe) Fevold at their farm near Badger, Iowa. He graduated from Moorland High School. After serving in World War II in North Africa, he returned to the area where he farmed with family members near Pioneer, Iowa. He married Phyllis Arlene Onnen on February 21, 1954, in Manson, Iowa. They moved and farmed near Morris, Minnesota in 1959. In 1974, they returned to the Humboldt area where he worked construction for AR Land Construction with his brothers, then with Herman Hauck Construction, and for his own business Humboldt Truss Rafters until his retirement.

Lowell enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, playing cards, tinkering with anything that needed to be fixed, playing and watching baseball (he played catcher on a semi-pro independent team in Humboldt), visiting family and friends and attending endless grandchildren’s activities. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels up until a few years ago. He also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Restore, Ingham Bible Camp, and at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. He participated in his family’s Turkey Bowl activities, including playing sand volleyball two years ago and dodge ball up until three years ago.

Preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Ardell (Veda) Fevold, Mary (Kenneth) Barrett, Charlene “Chuck” (Bert Cran, Emmett Wiegert) Wiegert, Rolland “Rollie” (LaDonna) Fevold, Robert (Ardis Sansgaard) Fevold; daughter-in-law Ivadelle “Ivy” (Mark) Fevold; his grandson Joseph “Joey” (BJ & Terri) Fevold, and numerous in-laws.
