Larry D. Davis, 79 of Lehigh died Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Larry’s wishes were for his body to be donated to the University of Iowa.

Larry Davis was born June 8, 1939. His parents were Wanda Lucille (Harrington) Davis and Lewis Leroy Davis. Larry attended Vinton School for the blind, where he was an avid swimmer. Larry then went to work for Morton Pies in Webster City. He married Lois Davis (Fritz) February 9, 1962 in Blue Earth, MN. They had two children together and raised their grandson, Craig, Jr. Larry spent the majority of his career working for Dicky Clay Manufacturing, where he was a head dynamite shooter and heavy equipment operator. He also worked at USG as a heavy equipment operator and worked a short time for Umthun Trucking. He was skilled as a handyman. Larry had many hobbies including woodworking, writing and singing songs, and playing guitar. Larry also volunteered at various local nursing homes.

Larry is survived by his son, Craig Davis, Sr.; daughter, Robin Allbee and Tony Dencklau; brothers, Darrel Davis, Terri (Joyce) Davis; grandchildren, Craig (Angie) Davis; Wayne (Andrea) Allbee; Chasity (Jerred) Plain; Alyse (Derek) Morris; Tanya Allbee-Perry; and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald Davis; sister, Linda Davis; and great grandson, Tayreese Turner.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:30 pm Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Lion’s Den also known as Izaak Walton. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
