Margaret McDermott Wiedenman
25 April 1902 ----- 23 September 1983Mrs. Margaret Wiedenman, the daughter of Andrew and Dina Hughes McDermott, was born at Eagle Grove, Iowa on April 25,1902. At the age of 6 years old, she moved with her parents to Iroquois, S.D., where she grew up and received her education. She taught in the rural schools in South Dakota for eight years. On Nov. 26, 1927, she was united in marriage with Harry Leonard Wiedenman at Iroquois, S.D. They lived and farmed in South Dakota until 1934, when they moved to Eagle Grove. During the World War II years, they lived in Des Moines and then returned to Eagle Grove. Mr. Wiedenman died on Aug. 30, 1954. For many years, she was employed by the Chapman Furniture Company in Eagle Grove and Webster City. She lived in Eagle Grove, Webster City and Clarion and she retired in 1966 from her work. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a Past Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jarlath and Wilbur Schutt of rural Webster City; one granddaughter, Kathleen, Mrs. George Erdkamp of Exeter, Nebr.; a great grandson, Adam, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and two infant brothers and an infant sister.
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Wiedenman, 81 of Eagle Grove, were held on Monday, Sept. 26,1983 at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Fr. Paul Peters, church pastor officiated and burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Rosary services were held on Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
