MARIE EMILY CLAUDE
Marie Emily Ahnne was born January 11, 1896, at Serena, Ill., the daughter of Henry and Geanne Bernard Ahnne. The family moved to the Woolstock
area when she was a young girl, and she was educated in country schools near Woolstock. Marie was united in marriage to Emile Claude of Woolstock on February 21, 1916, at the minister's home in Woolstock. They farmed near Woolstock until Mr. Claude's death in 1953. Marie worked in the Hamilton County Hospital for 12 years, leaving that position in 1966. She made her home in Woolstock until moving to Webster City to live with her son and his family. One year later, she moved to the Southfield Care Center in Webster City, on December 1, 1987.

Marie Claude died August 23, 1988 at the age of 92 years, seven months, and 12 days at the Southfield Care Center. Marie was a longtime faithful member of the Woolstock Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Woolstock Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Louise Waldon; a son, and a grandson. She is survived by two sons, Marvin Claude, Webster City; and Gaylord Claude, Rock Island, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Ruth) Stepp, Colona, Ill.; and Mrs. John (Dorothy) De Marce, Red Oak; one sister, Julie Claude, Concordia, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Marie Claude were held on Friday, August 26 at 1:30 p.m. in the Woolstock Methodist Church. The Rev. Jacob Van Mantgem
officiated, and burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Dodge. The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
