Services for Hugh Pierce here Friday

Hugh Pierce, 72, long time Algona resident, died at his home Tuesday. He had been in failing health since suffering a stroke in October. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at McCullough's funeral chapel, the Reverend Richard F. Cagle officiating. Burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, with McCullough's in charge. Mr Pierce was born Jan. 18, 1892 in Wright county, and had lived 39 years in Algona. He was the son of Robert and Alice Loobey Pierce. He was married Sept. 1, 1914 to Magdalene Gail Liscum, at the First Baptist church in Algona. Mrs Pierce survives; also two brothers, Leslie, Yakima, Wash., and Clair, Long Beach, Calif.
