Mildred Anna Scott was born March 31, 1905, to William Winfield and Phoebe Mae Burmaster Scott at Archie, Mo. She worked as a telephone operator in Archie, Mo. In 1924 she was united in marriage to Floyd V. Quintus of Garner, Iowa, where they lived on a farm until 1933 when they moved Eagle Grove. They moved to a farm west of Eagle Grove in 1941. She worked on the farm with her husband until 1963 when they retired and moved to Eagle Grove. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove, Bible Study class, and Circle.
Mildred Anna Quintus died Friday, November 7, 1997, at her home at the age of 92. Survivors includes four daughters, Betty Bowles, San Jose, Calif., Lois Lester, Goldfield, Beverly Nelsen, and husband, John, Clarion, and Charlotte Steffenson, and husband, Orville, Clarion; a son, William Quintus and wife, Dot, Eagle Grove; 21 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Victor Quintus on November 12, 1976; 1 grandchild; 2 great grandchildren; and 8 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 10, 1997, at 10 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove with the Reverend Julia Rendon officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
