Obituary
Charles William Bock was born March 27, 1923 at Klemme, Iowa, the eldest of five sons born to his parents, Phillip and Anna (Laschen) Bock.
An elevator accident at the store where he worked in Kansas City, brought his life to a close on Monday morning, July 7, 1947. Most of the 24 years of his life were spent in Klemme, his home town. He was baptized by Rev. A. A. Depping, when but a few weeks old, and during his childhood years attended Sunday School and received religious instruction at Klemme Evangelical and Reformed Church. He became a member of this church by Confirmation in 1939. Charles attended our public school and graduated from the Klemme High School in the year 1942. While attending high school, Charles also worked part time in the Times Print Shop.
And then came the war, and Charles was called to the colors in June 1943. He served in the United States Army for 34 months, 13 months of which was overseas. He was honorably discharged in February 1946. After the war he found employment with the Mark's Furniture Co. in Montgomery, Alabama, and it was there that he met Miss Odell Peoples and they were married August 15, 1946. A few months ago Charles and Odell moved to Kansas City, where Charles helped in a store and also attended night school.
He leaves to mourn his tragic passing his wife Odell, his parents, Phillip and Anna Bock and four brothers, Lawrence, Carol, Roger and Willis. And other more distant relatives and friends.
