Floyd Victor Quintus, the son of Edward and Alice Temby Quintus was born June 9, 1903 at Garner, Iowa. He attended the county and Garner schools. On September 26, 1924 he married Mildred Anna Scott of Mackinaw, Ill. at MacKinaw, Ill. They made their home on a farm near Garner until 1933 when they moved to Eagle Grove. He was a gravel truck operator until 1941 when they moved to a farm near Eagle Grove. He retired in 1964 and they moved to Eagle Grove.

Floyd died Friday, Nov. 12, 1976, at his home at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 3 days. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; one son, William Quintus, Eagle Grove; four daughters: Mrs. Betty Mericle, Des Moines; Lois (Mrs. Vernon) Lester, Clarion; Beverly (Mrs. John) Nelsen, Holmes; Charlotte (Mrs. Orville) Steffenson, Clarion; 21 grand children and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 15, 1976 at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ, Eagle Grove. Rev. Howell Bischoff officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
