HELEN JERGENSON
Helen Lee Jergenson was born January 27, 1916, the daughter of Lee Carter and Goldie Fern (Hedrick) Carter Agard in Iowa Falls. She was raised in Wright County and went to school in Goldfield and Eagle Grove. She met Selmer 'Sam' Jergenson and they married and lived on a farm from 1932 until 1956 when they moved to Goldfield. They opened a restaurant called Sam's Place. She lived in Goldfield from 1956 until 1999. Sam died in 1971. In February 1999 she moved to Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. She died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000 at the Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge at the age of 84.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sam; a sister, Edith Mcintosh; a brother, Robert Carter Davis; and a half-brother, Roger Agard. She is survived by seven children, Mardell (Mrs. Wallace "PeeWee") Lindstrom, of Queen Creek, Ariz.; Ronald, of Clarion; Richard, of Clarion; Bonnie (Mrs. Kenny), of Grundy Center; Dennis, of Humboldt; John, of Troy, Ill.; and Randy, of Council Bluffs.; a sister, Mary Newsum, of Fort Dodge; a half-sister Betty Harris, of Fort Dodge; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 5, at 1:30 p. m. at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with the Rev. William Trembly officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.
Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
