April 20, 1897 --- September 15, 1981

Funeral services for Mrs. Christene Henriksen, 84, were held from the United Church of Christ Congregational in Clarion on Friday, Sept. 18, 1981 at 11 a.m. Rev. H. Dale Morse officiated and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. The Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Henriksen died at the Community Memorial Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. She had been a patient there for four days. Christene was born on April 20, 1897 in Gystrup, Denmark and came to the United States at age twelve. She first went to South Dakota and later her family moved to Clarion. On April 1, 1914 she was married to Laurence Henriksen at Clarion where they made their home. He died in 1970. She later made her home at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove.

Surviving are five children: Mrs. Ray (Joanna) Sorensen of Dubuque; Mrs Forest (Helen) McPhail of Lake Oswego, Oregon; Mrs. Ralph (Phyllis) Borel of Clarion; John of Ohio, Illinois and Larry of New Albany, Ind., 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, her husband, a daughter, Agnes Lee; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Henriksen was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational, a Past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge, the Royal Neighbors of America and a charter member of the Navy Mothers.
