Helen Marie McPhail, 91, died on June 15, 2013. Helen moved to Oswego in 1951 and began working at Wizer's Grocery Store. She owned the fountain lunch counter and was a checker for over 20 years at the new Wizer's. Helen loved people, cooking, walking, sewing and traveling. She was a much-loved volunteer at Holden Village in Washington and YWAM in Chico, Calif. and Kona, Hawaii. She also volunteered for many years at Meridian Park and Providence Hospitals. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Forest (Mac) McPhail. She is survived by son, Kent (Sandy) Anderson of Lake Oswego; daughters, Janica (Len) Williamson of Swan Lake, Mont. and Molly (Andrew) Harrison of Zuni, Va.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 29, 10 a.m., at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Quarry Road in Lake Oswego. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Oregon.
