Charles Henry Deibler, son of Henry Deibler and Mary Elizabeth Rockefeller, was born at Scranton, Pa., October 17, 1857. At the age of twenty, he came west and went to work on the Soo Line out of Minneapolis. Later he entered the services of the C. and N. W. as brakeman and conductor, where he remained until he was pensioned in 1927. On June 21, 1889 he married Mary Elizabeth Murphy at Tracy, Minn. Together they came to Eagle Grove to make their home. Five children were born to this union: Charles A. of Enumclaw, Wash.; Ruth M. of Eagle Grove; Francis A. of Chicago, Ill.; and Mildred E. in Sioux City, and Marie, who died in infancy. His wife preceded him in death on November 11, 1936. He leaves to mourn his death his four children and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Kubitschek & Kastler Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Rev. W. M. Churchill of Dubuque officiated. Interment was in Calvary cemetery.
Those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Deibler of Enumclaw, Wash.; Mrs. Robert Robinauldtt, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Black, and Mrs. W. W. Hitchcock of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Laughlin of Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie F. Wilcox and children of Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Deibler and children of Chicago, Ill., George Hegge and Fred Brandt of Ledyard, Iowa.
