Julius Roseland funeral Monday

Funeral services for Julius Roseland, 67, were held Monday afternoon in the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor H. W. Schiller officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Roseland died Friday evening at his home. He had surgery a few weeks ago. He was an auto mechanic and had been employed at that trade for many years. Mr. Roseland was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and had served as head usher in the Eagle Grove Church for 17 years.

He is survived by his wife; two sons: Donald and Marvin Roseland, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters: Mrs. Jerry Spangler, Phoenix; Mrs. Scott McCurry, Eagle Grove; 11 grandchildren; brother, Bert Roseland, Omaha, Neb.; and sisters: Miss Mabel Roseland, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. Floyd Pohlman, Eagle Grove.

OBITUARY
Julius Joakin Falk Roseland was born March 28, 1907 in Wright County, Iowa to John and Larsina Falk Roseland. He was baptized into the triune faith on May 12, 1907 by Rev. O. R. Sletten at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church. On November 13, 1921 he renewed his baptismal covenant through the rite of confirmation at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. T. J. Severtson officiating. He passed away at his home in Eagle Grove on March 21 after reaching the age of 67 years, 11 months, and 21 days. Julius attended the Wright County schools. He was united in marriage to Esther Anderson of Clarion on November 14, 1928 at Fort Dodge. Julius was a self employed auto mechanic. He served Evangelical Lutheran Church as head usher for 17 years.

Mr. Roseland was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Joe, Harold, and Elmer; and two sisters: Christina Larson and Ellen Weeks. Those who mourn his passing are his wife; sons: Donald and Marvin, Phoenix, Ariz; daughters: Shirley (Mrs. Jerry Spangler) Phoenix, Ariz.; and Ellen (Mrs. Scott McCurry) Eagle Grove; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Bert Roseland, Omaha, Neb.; and two sisters: Mabel Roseland, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. Floyd Pohlman, Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating.
