DEATH OF MRS. C. C. BALDUS
Mrs. Charles Baldus died at the Colonial hospital at Rochester, Minn, Thursday, Oct. 14, at 8:30 a.m. after being a patient there since May 31. Mrs. Baldus, wife of Dr. Charles Baldus, a prominent Goldfield dentist, had been ill the past six months from cancer. She was 58 years old and had been an assistant for her husband for 20 years, until his retirement 3 years ago.

Hazel McIntyre was born at Goldfield, Oct. 28, 1890 and died Oct. 14, 1948, having passed away on their wedding anniversary. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Baldus of Goldfield; one son, Kenneth; her aged mother and a brother, Horace Mclntyre, of Goldfield, and many other relatives and friends. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Kastler funeral home at Eagle Grove, and at 2 o'clock at Christian church at Goldfield. Interment was in the Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield. Services were in charge of the Rev Clayton Kent. Pallbearers were Clifford Olson, Fritz Clausen, Raymond Lester, Hale Blunket, Marinus Siemens and Bert Siemens. A quartette composed of Mrs. Clifford Olson, Mrs. Wm. McCutcheon, Paul Siemens and Kenneth Siemens, sang two hymns, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. F. M. Clausen.

Those from this vicinity who attended the funeral services Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Milford Baldus and Mr and Mrs. Carl Baldus of Story City; Mr. and Mrs. John McCoy and Mr. and Mrs. John Wirth of Boone; Mrs. Laydon, Mrs. Wm. Stone, Mrs. Nellie Rainbolt and daughter Fern and Miss Nellie Gretten of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. John Springman, Mrs. Frank Rickerl, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Baldus, Mrs. Emma Miskell, Kermit and Dorothy, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Sparboe, Mr. and Mrs. Lars Raymond, Walter Anderson, Mrs. Andrew Alfseike, Miss Lena Baldus and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Frandson.
