Randy Paul Romsey passed away from an extended fight with cancer at his parents' home in Clarion, on March 15, 1990, at the age of 39 years, three months, and 14 days. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, at the Holmes Lutheran Church, Holmes, Iowa. The Rev. Carlton Shaw officiated and burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, Iowa.

Randy Paul Romsey was born Dec. 1, 1950, the son of La Verne (Gus) and Colleen (Olson) Romsey, at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended Goldfield, Iowa schools and graduated from Goldfield High School in 1969. He entered Luther College in Decorah, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973. Randy was united in marriage to Judy Anderson Purcell of Goldfield on Jan. 21, 1990, in the Methodist Chapel of the Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn. He was a member of the Holmes Lutheran Church, Holmes, and the Izaak Walton League.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; a son, Brody, and step-daughter, Holly Purcell, both at home; his parents, "Gus" and Colleen of Clarion; two brothers, Tom of Stratford, and Mike of Goldfield; and one sister, Nina (Mrs. Bob) Wright of Forsyth, Illinois.
