Kenneth D. Olson, 70, of Eagle Grove, died Saturday, January 24, 2004, at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 27, at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Kenneth Duane Olson was born May 29, 1933 in Kanawha, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Jennie (Pedersen) Olson. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth. On September 3, 1955, he married Joanne Van Sickle at Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. He was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church and served as an usher. He enjoyed playing golf and played in the Over 50 Golf League. Survivors include his wife, Joanne Olson, of Eagle Grove; one daughter, Karen Root, and her husband, Clark, of Fort Dodge; a son, Kurt Olson, and his wife, Foresta, of Buffalo, Minn., a grandson, Eric Olson and a granddaughter, Alexis Olson, of Buffalo, Minn.; three sisters Helen Casey, of Eagle Grove, Mildred Lofgreen and her husband, Kenneth, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Vivian Crandall, and her husband, Robert, of Eagle Grove; a brother, Alvin Olson, and his wife, Elaine, of Eagle Grove, and several nieces and nephews. Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
