Anna Johnson was born April 5, 1863 to the parents, Johannes and Dorthea, in Kvinnhered, Hordaland, Norway, and died at the Askvig convalescent home, Eagle Grove, Iowa, August 31, 1948, age 85 years, 4 months and 26 days. She received the Christian baptism, was taught the way of salvation in Christ, and confessed her Christian faith in her youth. In 1882 she came to America, to Illinois, where she was united in marriage to John Natterstad. To this union three children were born, Hannah, Louis and Tillie, now Mrs. Wildkatch. Mr. Natterstad died at a rather early age, Hannah and Louis also died young. She was later married to John Roseland, of Eagle Grove. Iowa. She is now survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Charles Wildkatch of Chicago, Ill., by two grandchildren and by one great-grandchild. Also by two brothers, Ole Johnson of Fonda, Iowa, and Jens Johnson of Eagle Grove, and by one sister, Mrs. Bertha Hatteberg of Ware, Iowa, and by a large number of relatives and friends. Mrs. Roseland was a quiet, patient personality, a member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church. She appreciated very much the ministry of the church. She suffered for a number of years from bodily ailments, and spent many days at intervals at the hospital under doctors care. Funeral services were held Friday, September 3, from the Kastler Funeral Home and from the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church. Burial was made in the Rose Hill Cemetery.Eagle Grove Eagle -- Eagle Grove, Iowa
