Louise Emily Grandgeorge, the daughter of Louis and Sophia Mourlam Claude, was born on October 13, 1893, in Wall Lake Township, Wright County, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm and attended the rural schools. She was married to Philippe Grandgeorge in Wright County, Iowa. The family lived and farmed in Woolstock Township for many years and in 1955, Phiippe and Louise moved to Woolstock. He died in 1966. Louise continued to live in their home until six years ago when she became a resident of the Crestview Manor in Webster City. She was a longtime member of the French Church.

She died early Friday morning, January 13, 1984 at the Crestview Manor in Webster City, at the age of 90 years and three months. She is survived by a daughter, Adabelle, Mrs. Irvin Meier of Rowan; two sons, Clarence Grandgeorge and Dean Grandgeorge, both of rural Woolstock; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Loux of Osage, Iowa; two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Mary Claude of Woolstock and Mrs. Lydia Sanders of Fairmont, Minn. and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Louis Grandgeorge, two infant daughters and an infant son; a great-grandchild and several brothers and sisters.

Services for Mrs. Louise E. Grandgeorge, 90, of Woolstock, were held on Monday, January 16, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Rev. John Hembry of the Woolstock United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the French Cemetery near Woolstock.
