John J. Roseland Dies At Age Of 88

John J. Roseland died at home, 720 North Montgomery Ave, Tuesday night at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 6 days. Mr. Roseland had been ill and bedfast for the past eight months, since he fell and broke his hip. Mr. Roseland was a resident of Eagle Grove for 66 years and worked for the Chicago Northwestern R. R. for 47 years. He retired at the age of 67, on account of illness and spent his remaining years in his own home. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Clara McCormick, of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Wm. Hoffbuhr of South Pekin, Ill.; Mrs. Jennie Willard of Chicago, Mrs. Austin Summers of Belmond, a stepdaughter, Mrs. John Nelson of Eagle Grove and one son, Arthur Roseland of this city. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Evangelical Lutheran church. Rev. Kenneth Torvik will give the funeral sermon and interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery.
