July 21, 1883 --- October 28, 1918

Lars Knudson was born on the L. L. Knudson farm west of town on July 21, 1883, where he grew to manhood and where he died on October 27, 1918. He attended the Jewell Lutheran College for some time; he was graduated from Red Wing College in 1909 and from Highland Park in 1912. He taught in Jewell for one year. Failing health caused him to resign and after spending some months in Colorado he returned to the farm very much improved in health. He has since been here with his father and brother assisting them in their extensive farming and land business. He leaves to mourn his death, his father, three brothers, John, Linsworth and Allen, three sisters, Emma, Leva, and Nellie. Burial was made at Rose Hill on October 29. Rev. Norstad of Jewell and Rev. Spande of this city officiating.
