Funeral services for L. L. Knudson, a pioneer of Wright and Humboldt counties, were held Monday afternoon from the West Side Lutheran church in charge of Rev. H. S. Fauske. Mr. Knudson came to Humboldt county in 1874 in a covered wagon, when a very young boy. He farmed there for a few years, and then moved to Wright county just west of Eagle Grove where he had lived for 65 years. Mr. Knudson is survived by two sons and two daughters, John, Allen and Emma of this city, and Mrs. Severt Westvold of Wichita, Kans.

Obituary
Lars L. Knudson was born March 4, 1854, to parents Lars and Viva Knudson at Osslan, Iowa, and was baptized in infancy and confirmed at the age of 14 by Rev. A. E. Boyum, pastor of the Lutheran church at Ossian. In 1874 he moved in a covered wagon to Humboldt county, Iowa, where he was occupied with farming for the last 65 years, and died at his farm home, one mile west of Eagle Grove, Friday morning, June 9, at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 5 days. In 1875 he was united in marriage to Miss Ane Peterson of West Union, Iowa. To this union were born 4 sons and 3 daughters, John, Linsworth, Lars, Allen, and Emma, Lena, and Nellie. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ane, 37 years ago, by two sons and one daughter, Linsworth, Lars and Liva Knudson of Eagle Grove, by two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by two sons, Allen and John Knudson of Eagle Grove, by two daughters, Mrs. Nellie S. Westvold of Wichita, Kans., Emma Knudson of Eagle Grove, by nine grandchidren, Ruth, Robert and Richard Westvold of Wichita, Kans., Marcella, Wayne, Stanley and Raymond Knudson of Eagle Grove, Kenneth and Donald Knudson of Goldfield.

Mr. Knudson was a charter member of Norway Lutheran congregation, Humboldt county, Iowa. In that congregation he experienced a spiritual awakening during his early manhood. He was a peaceful and kind neighbor Everyone was met with a pleasing smile. He was a loving husband and a good father.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, June 12, at the West Side Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. H. S. Fauske, and was laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery.

EAGLE GROVE — Funeral services for Lars L. Knudson, 85, retired farmer, widower, will be held Monday at 2 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. H. S. Fauske at the West Side Lutheran church. Burial will be made in Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove. The pallbearers will be Lars Osland, John, Lars and Carl Johnson and Hans and Lars Larson. He is survived by two daughters: Emma, at home and Mrs. Nellie Westvold, Wichita, Kans., and by two sons: John and Allen at home; also by nine grandchildren.
