9 January 1882 --- 9 December 1935
Linsworth Knudson, 53, died in Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge, late Monday night. Unknown to most of his friends, Mr. Knudson had been in poor health for a number of years. Three weeks ago he was taken to the Lutheran hospital at Fort Dodge where it was discovered that he was suffering from diabetes and possible ulcers of the stomach. He seemed to be improving and building up, but Monday morning stomach hemorrhages developed and his system could not withstand an unusual loss of blood and death came to his relief at 11:40 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9th.
Mr. Knudson was born on the Knudson homestead, 3-1/2 miles west of Eagle Grove, in Norway township, Humboldt county, Jan. 19, 1882. He has lived in this community all his life. About 20 years ago he leased his farm holdings and engaged in the real estate, insurance and auction business in Eagle Grove. With his father and brothers he had large land holdings in Iowa and around Kenyon, Minn. After the slump in land values in 1921, he again assumed active operations of his farms and has continued at that work until the time his sickness compelled him to go to the hospital three weeks ago.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, Kenneth and Donald. His father, L. L. Knudson, survives, also two brothers, John and Allan, and two sisters, Emma, at home here, and Mrs. Nellie Westvold of Wichita, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Westvold were enroute to Miami, Florida, at the time of Mr. Knudson's death.
