17 May 1855 --- 13 April 1934

Jennie Gilbert, wife of M. A. [Morgan Andrew] Parsons, was born May 7, 1855, at Columbus, Ohio, and passed away at her home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, on April 13, 1934. Mrs. Parsons was left without her parents at a very tender age, her mother passing away when Jennie was but five and her father when she was twelve. She was reared by foster parents by the name of Johnson. She had three brothers and a sister, all having passed away many years ago. These brothers were all veterans of the Civil War.

She was married to M. A. Parsons at Waterloo, Iowa, on January 8th, 1910, where they resided for three years and then moved to Manchester for three years, after which they came to Eagle Grove and remained ten years, then living at Holmes four years. Since then they have lived short periods at Manchester, Waterloo and the past three years at Clarion, returning to Eagle Grove to make their home in February, 1934.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, two step-daughters; Mrs. Linnie Robbins of Medersville, Mrs. John Shirkel of Oklahoma, and one step-son, Otto Parsons of McCook, Neb., also one sister of near Columbus, Ohio, whom she had not seen since childhood days.

Mrs. Parsons was a woman of excellent Christian character, a homemaker, and will be sadly missed by her many friends. She was a member of the W. R. C. for twenty one years and always enjoyed the associations of this organization.

Funeral services were held from the Kubitschek & Kastler funeral home Sunday afternoon, April 15 at 2:30 with Rev. Halvorsen of Goldfield in charge. The W. R. C. ladies attended the services in a body.
