Ruth Pauline Eastman, the daughter of Edward and Mary Eastman, was born June 9, 1900, at Cross Lake, Minn. She attended school at Cross Lake. On December 1, 1923 she was married to William Hanson. Following their marriage they lived in Fargo, N.D. Mr. Hanson died in 1929. On April 5, 1930 she was married to Robert S. Bjornson at Webster City. They made their home in Eagle Grove and then Goldfield, before moving back to Eagle Grove in 1957. Mr. Bjornson died in 1957. For the last year she had been a resident at the Humboldt Care Center - South, in Humboldt.
Mrs. Bjornson died Monday, August 1, 1977 at the Humboldt County Hospital at the age of 77 years, 1 month, and 22 days. Survivors include a son, Robert Bjornson, Eagle Grove; five daughters, Audrey (Mrs. Wilfred) Kover, Olympia, Wash.; Ruth (Mrs. Warren) Reed, Eagle Grove; Eva (Mrs. Hascal) Caudell, Danielsville, Ga.; Barbara (Mrs. Norman) Gangstead, Goldfield; Donna (Mrs. Richard) Bordwell, Gilmore City; 27 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 4, at 2 p.m. at Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Dr. Geo. W. DenHartog of the Goldfield Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
