Robert S. Bjornson, 67, of Goldfield died Friday morning at his home after a lengthy illness. Surviving are his wife, three daughters and one son. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Monday in the Kastler Funeral home in Eagle Grove. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery Rev. J. Howard Machlan, pastor of the Methodist church of Goldfield officiated, Dr. F. H. Kelly, Frank Stevenson, John Schipull, Loyd Skafte, George McCutcheon and Axel Matson were pallbearers.Robert S. Bjornson was born Sept. 7, 1890 and died at his home in Goldfield Oct. 4 at the age of 67 years and 1 month. He was the youngest child of Adolph and Sara Bjornson and the family resided on a farm near Renwick and later moved to Goldfield where he lived for many years.
During World War I he served in the Army and was in the battle at the Argonne. On April 5, 1930 he was married to Ruth Hanson and to the union four children were born Mrs. Hascal Caudell (Eva) of Danielsville, Ga., Mrs. Norman Gangstead (Barbara) and Robert Jr of Goldfield and Mrs. James Pohlman (Donna) of Rowan, Two step-daughters, Mrs. Bill Kover (Audrey) of Nisqually, Wash., and Mrs. Warren Reed (Ruth) of Clarion were also raised in the family home. He was a member of the Goldfield Methodist church and belonged to the Earl B. Beisell Post of the American Legion. He had been in failing health for the last three years and had been bedfast for several months. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Ruth, five daughters and one son, a sister, Mrs. Cassa Comstock of Eagle Grove, a brother Oscar, Chico, Calif., and a host of friends.
