Clinton Revis Barmore was born August 24, 1925, the son of William and Retta Jane Revis Barmore, at Adams, Neb. He attended school at Adams, and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1942. He was in the Navy during World War II, from 1943 until his discharge in 1946.

Clinton returned to Eagle Grove after the war and was united in marriage to Hazel Thompson of Eagle Grove, on June 11, 1947 at the Samuel Lutheran Church. The couple has made their home in Eagle Grove since that time.

Clinton was employed at the Iowa Seed Company, farmed with Eugene Berg, and up until his forced retirement due to illness, he was employed in school maintenance for the Eagle Grove Community Schools since 1954, and was superintendent of buildings and grounds for the past two years. He was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove.

Clinton Barmore died April 3, 1988, at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn., at the age of 62 years, seven months, and nine days.

He is survived by his mother, Jane Barmore of Fort Dodge; his wife, Hazel; two sons, Paul Barmore, Rockton, Ill.; Steven, Fairfax, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Hazel Marie) Wiegert, Minneapolis, Minn., Lois Barmore, Glendale, Ariz.; two brothers, Earl Barmore, Humboldt; Lavern Barmore, Vancouver, Wash., two sisters, Mrs. Francis (Mildred) Thul, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Alvin (Betty) Werkmeister of Pocahontas, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 7, at 2:30 p.m. at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. The Rev Carlton Shaw officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Kastler Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
