Ethel Beecher, 83, of Eagle Grove, died Friday, January 13, 2006, at the Rotary Ann Retirement Home. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Mary K. Green officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery She is survived by her three children: Carolyn Krause and her husband. Max, of Kanawha; Carroll Junior Beecher, of Eagle Grove; and Ella Simpson and her husband Eddie, of Boxholm; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Naomi Totten, of Wisconsin, and Hazel Grace Johnston, of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carroll, in 1989, a grandson. Douglas Krause, three sisters. Daisy Current, Helen Shadek, and Betty Howard, two brothers. Kenneth Wray and Everett Wray.

Ethel M. Beecher was born October 13, 1922, at Delmar, Iowa, the daughter of George and Eva Mae (Lacaffe) Wray. She was raised and educated in the Clinton area. On August 1, 1942, she married Carroll F. Beecher at Independence and made their home in Clinton. The couple moved to Eagle Grove in 1949. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and church circle. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, gardening, putting puzzles together with friends, the Senior Citizens Center, and fishing with Carroll.

The Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
