Mamie Alice Younglove was born March 4, 1887, at Milburn, Nebraska, the daughter of George Olin and Mary Elizabeth Milburn Younglove. She attended school at Dakota City, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Leslie David Beecber at Washburn, Wisconsin, April 27, 1905. The young couple came to Eagle Grove in 1908 to make their home. The couple became the parents of four sons, three of whom survive her. Mr. Beecher died in 1964, and Mrs. Beecher continued to make her home in Eagle Grove after his death. She entered Mercy Hospital, Fort Dodge, on Feb. 2, 1972, and passed away there on Saturday Feb. 19, at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 15 days. A son Vivian, preceded her in death. Those surviving are: sons Harry Beecher, Webster City; Marion Beecher, Clinton; Carroll Beecher, Eagle Grove; a foster daughter, Mrs. Omer Anderson, Thor; three brothers, Fred Younglove, Huron, S. Dakota; Beebe Younglove, Cody, Wyoming; Chris Younglove, Cody, Wyoming; three sisters: Mrs. Mabel Grey, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Mrs. Allen Irwin, Eagle Grove and Mrs. Harry Allred, Fresno, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one brother George, one sister, Grace Nelson and one great granddaughter. Mrs. Beecher was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 2 pm at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Forbes of the United Methodist Church officiated, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
