Agnes Larson Nargang, of New Hampton, Iowa, died Monday, September 1, 2003, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Martin, Carl, and Harold Larson. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Donald; a daughter, Kathy Harms, and husband, Darwin, of Morrison, Iowa; two sons, Ron, and wife, Becky, of Afton, Minn., and Bob of Waukon, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; two sisters, Julia Larson of Waterloo, and Katinka (Kitty) Fevold of Goldfield, Iowa; and one brother, Bjarne Larson, and wife, Marta, of La Mirada, Calif.

Agnes Larson was born March 1, 1925, on a farm near Kanawha, Iowa, in Wright County, the daughter of Torvald and Clara (Olson) Larson. She attended country school near her family's home and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. After her schooling, she worked at Hinson's making a variety of canvas products. On November 6, 1946, she was united in marriage to Don Nargang in a small ceremony near Preston, Minn. The couple farmed for a short time Northeast of New Hampton and she worked winters at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo until the couple moved to Denver, Iowa, in 1951. They remained in Denver until 1977 when they retired and moved back to the family farm where she was currently residing. She was active in the Circle at Trinity Lutheran Church, was an avid reader, and a big fan of Harry Potter. She loved to camp, fish, play cards, and spoil her grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 5, at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton, with Reverend Kevin Frey officiating. Burial was held in the New Hampton Cemetery. Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
