Funeral services for C. Lester Stanford, 78, longtime resident of Hamilton and Wright Counties were held Saturday afternoon at the Sandvig Funeral Home. The Rev. Bernard Olson officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Stanford is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Verne Segar of Manterville, Minn., and Mrs. Richard Derscheid of Clarion, eight grandchildren and one sister, Miss Brooksy Stanford of Clay City, Ill.

Mr. Stanford died early Thursday morning March 2nd in the Clarion hospital after an illness of two weeks. He was born and educated in Clay County, Illinois and was married to Lena Clawson Sept. 24, 1918 in Illinois. After their marriage they moved to Iowa and farmed in both Wright and Hamilton Counties until he retired in 1965. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1955. He had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home previous to his death. He was a member of the Eagle Grove Methodist church.
